Opera 17 is a web browser developed by Opera Software ASA, available for download in full install version for Windows platforms from legacy sources. This version of Opera was officially released on 2013-10-08 for public access and a brief summary of important updates and change log pertaining to this edition can be read below.

Opera 17 has been built on Chromium 30 rendering engine using JavaScript engine V8. This version is supported in Windows XP and later versions except Windows 10.

Opera 17 has been released with two major new features of Pinned Tabs and Custom Search engines in addition to the ability to change startup behaviors of the browser. 

Now you can avoid accidental closure of tabs, by pinning the tabs in the tab bar. With this edition Opera has introduced creating custom search engines in address bar. As usual this edition has full support for the latest chromium release 30.
